Pushpam Jha is a senior partner with Saikrishna & Associates and an IP specialist with more than 28 years of experience. Jha graduated from the Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi and was admitted to the bar in 1997. He joined the firm in 2003 and heads the intellectual property prosecution practice – trademarks, copyright, geographical indications and designs, of the firm. He provides strategic brand clearance support to clients and manages expansive global trademark portfolios for Fortune 500 companies across diverse industries ranging from media and entertainment, telecommunications & electronics, software, pharma and life sciences, apparel, banking, insurance and fintech, broadcasting, e-commerce, FMCG and retail, automotive, hospitality, publishing, real estate, and energy sectors. He is also an expert in developing comprehensive brand protection strategies, including anti-counterfeiting and cross-border enforcement for multinational corporations.

Jha possesses specialised knowledge of global filing systems such as the Madrid Protocol, which allows protection in over 115 member countries through a single application. He is an expert on providing strategic counsel on IP due diligence and regularly advises on brand dilution, infringement. He also advises on the potential consequences of actions from earlier brand owners and drafts and negotiates complex licensing, co-branding, assignments, franchising, and settlement agreements. He has handled high-stakes oppositions, and cancellation proceedings before national IP offices. On a regular basis, he files domain name complaints (UDRP and INDRP) for his clients and has secured various favourable orders. Jha also routinely engages in speaking assignments with various enforcement and regulatory authorities in India such as police academies, customs academies, and industry clusters. He is also the member of International Trademark Association (INTA) and is currently serving as a committee member of the Geographical Indications Committee. He was also recognised by INTA as one of the high-performing committee members last year.
