Neeraj Tuli is a senior partner of Tuli & Co. Before setting up the firm in 2000, he was a partner with Kennedys in London.
He is widely recognised for his depth of knowledge and understanding of the contentious and non-contentious aspects of the insurance and reinsurance industry. He is consistently named in the prestigious “Hall of Fame” by Legal 500, and is also consistently featured as band 1 practitioner for insurance by Chambers Asia-Pacific, as well as in India Business Law Journal’s “A-List”.
His practice is recommended in various editions of Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners legal directories with market sources describing him as having “remarkable knowledge” (Legal 500), “a name to be reckoned with and an authority” and “one of the leading minds in the space of insurance law” (Chambers Asia-Pacific).
Tuli regularly assists clients with regulatory advice, product development and insurance coverage issues. His coverage advice for insurers and reinsurers encompasses a wide range of policy lines, including directors and officers, errors and omissions/professional indemnity, cyber, commercial general liability, product liability, public liability, trade credit, machinery damage, business interruption, contractor’s plant and machinery, delay in startup, advance loss of profit, erection all risks and contractors’ all risks.
Tuli and his team also specialise in litigation and arbitration. They handle ad hoc as well as institutional arbitrations, including those conducted under the auspices of the London Court of International Arbitration, the International Chamber of Commerce, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the Dubai International Arbitration Centre, and the Indian Council of Arbitration. Tuli is currently managing claims on behalf of insurers and reinsurers in India, the US, the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
He also acts as an arbitrator and was invited to be the first president of the Insurance Law Association of India, which was formed in connection with the British Insurance Law Association. He is a member of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s national committee on dispute resolution and a former chairman and current member of the Indian Associated Chambers of Commerce Expert Insurance Committee.
Tuli is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales (1990) and a member of the Bar Council of Delhi (2000).
