Sumeet Kachwaha is a founding partner of Kachwaha & Partners, a leading dispute resolution and arbitration practice. He has handled many landmark and high stakes matters, including a large number of cross-border disputes. He has around 46 years’ standing in the profession.
Kachwaha has deposed as an expert witness on Indian law in the courts of Singapore and England. He also served as amicus curiae to the High Court of Delhi in two matters, including the USD2 billion Vodafone – India investment treaty dispute. Kachwaha’s assistance as amicus curiae was generously acknowledged by the high court in its decision.
Kachwaha has been ranked as a Band 1 lawyer for arbitration by Chambers Asia-Pacific since 2009. He features in Lexology (previously Who’s Who Legal) in five sections: arbitration, asset recovery, construction, government contracts and procurement.
Kachwaha serves on the advisory board of the Asian International Arbitration Centre (formerly the KLRCA). In the past, he served as chair of the dispute resolution and arbitration committee of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association and as a vice president of the Asia-Pacific Regional Arbitration Group.
